For the first time in league history, the Presbyterian College football team will open Big South play at home, as the Blue Hose host the VMI Keydets in a 2 p.m. match-up Saturday, Oct. 19. The game will be broadcast free on the Big South Network, sponsored by State Farm, at BigSouthSports.com. Fans can also tune into the WKRI i91.9-FM. It’s PINK OUT Day at PC with ZTA sorority leading the activities to bring awareness and research money to breast cancer; a Survivors Walk will be at halftime on the Bailey Memorial Stadium track.The Blue Hose return from their second bye week of the season with three straight home contests,Chemical Hose-PG and PS the first coming against the Keydets. VMI owns a 4-2 record over PC and took the win in Lexington, Va., last season, 17-7. PC was held to 45 yards of total offense in the first half, but rallied in the fourth quarter with a 23-yard touchdown catch by Jeremiah McKie. PC ran out of time as VMI came away with the eventual win.
The Blue Hose took the 38-6 win the last time the Keydets were in Clinton, back in 2011. The other PC win came in the first meeting, with the Blue Hose coming away with the 45-21 victory.With an average margin of 15.6 points, no meeting has been particularly close between the schools. The closest game in their short series was last season’s 10-point contest.Blake Roberts made the most of his second career start against Wofford … His recorded his first career touchdown, rushed for a career-best 50 yards and his long carry of 23 yards was also a personal best …In his first season at PC LaQua Mayes is already making a name for himself in the league … In five games he is fourth in the Big South in All-Purpose yardage with 108.0 yards per game Chemical Hose-SG and SS …
